Welcome to Work Permit Solutions
The implementation of the biggest shake-up of the UK Immigration system is in the process of being finalised by the UK Border Agency. The UK Government has made changes that implement a firmer, faster and fairer immigration structure to ensure that those migrants that Britain needs can come to or remain in the UK. Robust checks are now being made on applications submitted to enter and remain in the UK. D Abraham & Co Solicitors are able to provide you with a professional service with a high calibre of knowledge, skill and experience essential to establish eligibility under new immigration rules. On 23 February 2009 new measures were announced by the Home Secretary that will curb the eligibility of foreign workers to enter and remain in the UK. It is now more important than ever before to be certain that your application submission meets the eligibility criteria in line with new policies being put into operation to deal with the changing global economic circumstances.
For illegal immigrants who do not follow the UK immigration rules, the UK Border Agency plans to establish a new immigration removal centre. The year 2008 saw more than 5,000 foreign national removed from the United Kingdom. For passengers legitimately travelling through United Kingdom ports, new facial recognition technology is being introduced which balances high security with quicker times at immigration control.
From 1 April 2009 the UK Government will strengthen the resident labour market test for tier 2 skilled jobs so that employers must advertise jobs to resident workers through JobCentre Plus before they can bring in a worker from outside Europe. They will use the UK shortage occupation list to trigger skills reviews that focus on up-skilling resident workers for these occupations and will tighten new criteria against which highly skilled migrants seeking entry to the United Kingdom are judged, by raising the qualifications and salary required for tier 1 (General) of the Points Based Scheme to a Master's degree and a minimum salary of £20,000.
